[Solution] Can only write in Archive mode

Can only write in Archive mode

I can't write using Start or any other window in Word, only in Archive mode.
Whenever I try to write in any other mode the keyboard doesn't work, i.e.
no letters appear.
If I clicko on the formats - Normal, Headline 1, etc - Archive mode reappears and I'm
stuck with the same problem.
 
I'd like to reinstall Word but don't know how since the whole Office package was preinstalled on this computer.
 
What should I do?
