Cannot connect laptop to HomeGroup..

I'd like to know why I cannot connect my laptop to my desktop using Homegroup.

Both computer are on and operating, they're both running on Windows 7, they're both using the same network connection, and they're already connected to the same Homegroup..

The host of the Homegroup was originally my desktop, but since my laptop couldn't access anything, I reversed hosts, which didn't change anything.
If I click 'Homegroup Troubleshooter', it says "Some HomeGroup problems are network-related.", so I click on 'Troubleshoot network problems'.
"Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem".
After I close that window I get another asking me if it helped,
I say no...
It finally tells me what problems are found: "User identified problems = not fixed." It lists everything as "issue not present"...
So that's everything...
Everything I saw and I still can't connect my laptop to my desktop using Homegroup....
is there any help?
