Any one help please...

I have a group of cells in a column named as "SHFT", in that range shift timings as shown below is there.
0600-1800
1800-0600
1200-2400
2400-1200

Condition Formatting formula:-
If I type "DAY" in K5 change all 0600-1800 and 2400-1200 cell colour in range "SHFT" to RED

I am not able to think of a way to user the SHFT name in the Conditional Formatting formula...

You may select the range containing the data (I am assuming it starts at A1) and use the
FORMULA IS option of Conditonal Formatting and use the formula

=AND($K$5="DAY",OR(A1="0600-1800",A1="2400-1200"))
