This should be easy, but for some reason, I'm having trouble connecting to a shared printer on my home network.  The shared printer is connected to my XP desktop, and it has worked great for years with an older, XP laptop.  My newer laptop is running Vista,
and for some reason, I'm getting the following error when I try to access the printer from this laptop: "Windows cannot connect to the printer.  Access is denied."

I can see the desktop on using the Network function, and am having no problems accessing all the shared folders on my desktop.  Just can't get to the printer connected.  I also tried adding a new printer, but the same results.  If it matters, I'm currently
connected using both wireless and hardwire connection to my router, but I think I've tried it using each separately, with the same outcome.

Any tips?

Open Action Center by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, clicking Review your computer's status.

Make sure your computer has at least the minimum amount of random access memory (RAM) required to run the program that is displaying the error. Look for the program requirements online or in the packaging information.
