Auto correct issues
I am having problem with MS Word 2007. Receiving the following errors when attempting to open documents in word: Your auto correct file , Chinese character, MSO1033.ad, could not be saved. The file may be read only, or you may not have permission to
modify the file "OK". it will let me open and then when I try to save it won't save then gives me this error message.. Your autocorrect file fice12\1033\mso.accmso 1033.ad, could not be saved. The file may be read only or you may not have permission to
modify.

What is the default language set on your computer?
Ensure English (US) is set as the default language.
Try the following steps.
1. Navigate to
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office
2. Right-click on the
MSO2057.acl file, then select Rename and replace
‘.acl’ with ‘.old’ for this file
3. Next right-click on the
MSO1033.acl file and select Rename, then rename the
file to MSO2057.acl
4. Open Word 2007, click on the round
Office Button (at the top left-hand corner) > Word Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options, then click on
OK and exit Word (this should re-create the default English acl file which is MSO1033.acl)

- Go to the Start button.
- In the Search box, type "cmd" (without quotes) and press Enter.
- At the command prompt, type "chkdsk /r /f" (without quotes) and press Enter.
- Reboot your computer.
