All processes crash then All i see is wallpaper then computer shuts down. Powers back on fine

So I was playing tekkit (minecraft) and then all the sudden i started getting windows pop ups that were informing me that my processes crashed, there must have been 20 of them.
Then the messages were gone and all that was there was my wallpaper no
start bar no anything just my wallpaper then it shut down.
I powered back on and it was fine but I would like to know what is causing it to do this.
I have windows 7 home premium, hp h8-123
