ADDRESS BAR NOT WORKING

When I type something like BBC or facebook I get a message coming up saying windows cannot find ......
please check spelling   I used to be able to search for websites this way, but since the kids have been on here I no longer can.  I can found the webpage
by putting it in fully every time.  Please help this is so frustrating - could it be a registry problem if so how on earth do I check that?    I want to once again being to type a couple of words in the address bar and found the web pages.  help

Thank you for posting.  It sounds like somehow Auto Complete got turned off on your Internet Explorer. 
Follow these steps to turn it back on:
1.     Open Internet Explorer
2.     Click on Tools
3.     Click on Internet Options
4.     Click on the Content tab
5.     Locate the Auto Complete heading and click the Settings button there
6.     Place a checkmark in the box next Address Bar
7.     You can also adjust your Auto Complete settings for other areas here

Boot in Safe Mode:

  • Open Run command as previously described
  • Type MSConfig
  • Click on Boot tab
  • Tick Safe boot in Boot option
  • Select Network
  • Click Apply and OK
  • Reboot your system

Your system will boot in Safe mode with Networking. You may now try and open Windows Store and should not see any errors.
